Bellegprom Concern was created in 1992 on the bases of Ministry of Light Industry of the Republic of Belarus. It represents interests of more than 100 enterprises and organizations of Light Industry of the Republic of Belarus which produce hundreds kinds of products of more than 5000 names.

What is produced: cotton, silk, wool, flax, synthetic fabrics, cotton yarns, wool yarns, carpets, carpets products, sewing and knitted products, hosiery, footwear for women, men, children and sports, leather goods, products made of natural and imitation fur, porcelain and bristle-brush products.

· Creation of complex technology for deep processing short flax fibers, forming the assortment of mixed flax containing fibres and products, finishing these fibres and products on its basis.
The main mode parameters for boiling-off, bleaching, softening the mechanically preprocessed fibres are specified. Technologies are developed and flax containing fibres of different composition of raw materials and linear density are produced.

· Updating preparation of cottonized flax fibres (including the foreign lines for cottonizing) and its wider use in production of yarns, knitted fabrics, clothes, medical cotton.
Optimum parameters for equipment adjustment are specified; properties of fibres, yarns, knitted fabrics and clothes were tested. Researches were made for dyeing flax fibre card sliver and producing yarns from it in worsted production. The assortment of knitted products made of flax containing yarns is created with new color effects: bleached, flat(smooth)dyed, printed.

· Working out and implementation of technological processes for manufacture of light industry products with use of flax fibre produced on specialized cottonization lines.
Optimized technology for production cottonized flax fibre on specialized cottonization line. Experimental-industrial lots of cottonized flax fibre, flax containing yarns , knitted fabrics and products are produced. Specifications on fibre, technological conditions for fibre, yarn, knitted fabric production (including dyeing and finishing processes) are worked out.

· Technology was developing for production medical cotton made of cottonized flax fibre.
Production method for medical cotton is worked out, the equipment is chosen, the design is made for production of 1000 tons of medical cotton per year. Experimental-industrial lot of medical cotton was produced.

· Technology was developing for production a new assortment of yarns and knitted fabrics with use of chemical fibres and threads produced in the Republic of Belarus.
New technologies and assortment of yarns were developed; technologies for production of knitted fabrics were worked out. Technologies for production of yarns and knitted fabrics are accepted for mastering in the production by textile and knitting enterprises of BELLEGPROM Concern.

· Developing and implementation new assortment and technologies for yarn and knitted fabric production on the bases of new domestic and not traditional raw resources.
The existing technologies were modified and new ones were developed as well as the assortment of yarns with micro fibres having better dyeability, with polyacrylonitriles and polyamides of different composition. Technologies were developed for production and finishing knitted fabrics made of a.m. yarns. The assortment of mouline threads and hosiery of them was created.

· Working out new ecologically safe technologies for dyeing and finishing the textile materials.
The results of experiments and industrial tests of new preparation technologies (boil-off, steeping) for flax fibre roving, fabrics and knitted fabrics with use of ecological textile ancillary substance and biologically active enzymes were summarized. Drimarene-K dyeing mode was developed ( Klariant Consulting Co., Switzerland) as well as cibacrone-W mode of dyeing( Siba Co. Switzerland).

· Developing of ecological energy-saving biotechnology for finishing textile materials.
Technological conditions were developed for steeping polyester cotton fabric on the equipment of periodical and continuous operation. Test samples of domestic enzymes were produced.

· Technological development of semi-comb chain organization in cloth production.
Experimental lots of yarns for manufacturing lighted fabrics were produced; their properties were evaluated. Draft technological regulations for production of semi-comb yarns were developed.

· Development of marketing strategy and improvement of organizational structure of managing a factory in conditions of market-oriented economy.

· Systematic references on capital flow control at light industry enterprises.

Bellesbumprom Concern unites about 60 entities which concentrate 70 per cent of wood processing in Belarus.

The logging sector includes: timber collection and removal, its cross-cutting, production of industrial wood and round timber, production of sawlog, raw materials for manufacturing, plywood, matches, technological raw material, collection of turpentine gum.

The pulp and paper industrial sector is specialised in production of cardboard and paper articles.

Over 20 types of paper and cardboard are produced.

The wood-processing and furniture sector is divided into two major branches closely interrelated: on the one hand, this is wood and products of wood which is the result of primary processing of wood raw materials and elements for furniture and instruction industries (windows, doors, sections, wallboards, etc.); on the other hand, this is furniture and this branch is directly faced to the end market.

The Concern is the largest manufacturer of furniture in the Republic of Belarus. The specific weight of furniture production of the Concern enterprises in the total furniture production in the Republic of Belarus is about 50 per cent.

The production programme of furniture manufacture is practically the whole assortment of household and office furniture.

The Concern has the widest relations at the foreign market and implements export- import independently. Meanwhile, the import-export potential of the industry is not covered in full.

Concern Belneftekhim unites 40 organizations with a total number of employees of 116,000 .

Delivering to the national economy oil products, chemical fibers and yarns, mineral fertilizers, plastic and paint and varnish products, tires and other chemical and petrochemical products, increasing the export potential, the petrochemical complex directly influences creation of conditions for stable work of many branches of the economy, provides essential incomes, including currency, to the state budget.

Today Belneftekhim is 25 % of the industrial output of the Republic of Belarus; about 30 % of export and currency proceeds of the Republic; almost 20 % of all kinds of taxes and duties forming the profitable part of the budget of the Republic of Belarus.

China is one of the major trade partners of Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry (Belneftekhim). As a vivid example one can mention a 4.5 times increase (from USD 51.6 million to 234.7 million) in the export of the Concern products to China for the period from 1997 through 2004. In 2005 the export exceeded USD 300 million.

The development of trade and economic cooperation between Belneftekhim and major Chinese companies was further spurred by the official visit to China by the Belarus state delegation headed by President A.Lukashenko.

Two protocols prepared by Bekneftekhim were signed during the visit.

The first Protocol touches upon the cooperation between Belneftekhim and Chinese International Petrochemical Company “Sinopec International”. The Parties to the Protocol agreed to work on implementation of joint projects on reconstruction and modernization of Belneftekhim companies. One of the projects deals with construction of an ethylene unit at JSC “Polymir” and a nitrogen unit at JSC “Grodno Azot”. The issue of purchasing petrochemical raw materials for Belneftekhim companies was also discussed.

The second Protocol was signed between Belneftekhim and China Petroleum Technology Development Corporation. The Parties agreed to develop the cooperation in the oil and petrochemical areas. They discussed the projects on purchasing of Chinese materials and equipment for oil production, support by Belneftekhim of Chinese partners in introduction of modern technologies in the area of oil production and exploration.

In 2005 JSC “Grodno Azot”, one of the largest enterprises of Belneftekhim Concern, signed contracts with a number of Chinese companies on caprolactam deliveries. The presumable value of the contracts might reach USD 100 million USD in 2006.

Belneftekhim is currently exploring opportunities for increasing the exports of potassium fertilizers, caprolactam, synthetic yarn tow and carbon yarns to China and imports of Chinese auxiliary chemicals and raw materials.

BELMESTPROM

Concern "Belmestprom" is a diversified industrial complex comprising enterprises which manufacture a wide range of mass consumer goods in the spheres of metal cutting, chemical production, woodworking, light industry and construction materials.

Among the successfully exported products are furniture, particularly camping and medical, lock fittings, hardware, mirrors, ceramics, sanitary equipment, sewer parts, lighting products for tractors, household chemical goods, fulled footwear, knits and ready-made garments.

In January-October, 2005 the foreign trade turnover of the Concern totaled USD 23.7 million. The export amounted to USD 15.3 million.

Up to 90% of the products are exported to Russia. In January-October, 2005 the export to Russia totaled USD 13.4 million.

The Concern enterprises successfully cooperate with the CIS and other foreign countries.

In January-October, 2005 the export to Ukraine grew by 42.7%, Kazakhstan – 20.5%, Moldova – 8.9%, Kyrgyzstan – 220%, Latvia – 40.7%, Estonia – 4.8%, Czech Republic – 230%, and the USA – 15.1%.

The goods of the local industry are also exported to Germany, Lithuania, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Belgium, Slovakia, Macedonia, Poland and other countries.

Due to the changing Russian market and increased competition from cheaper Chinese and Turkish products the enterprises of the Concern are carrying out research on market capacities in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Baltic states, Poland, Germany, and the USA.

The quality, design and packing improvement of the exported products, updating and expansion of the assortment of goods are priorities for the Concern.

The Concern enterprises are keen on attracting local and foreign investments in order to technically update the production equipment for further realization of the export potential.

Общая производственная мощность по переработке сахарной свеклы по состоянию на 01.01.2005 г. – 22,30 тыс. тонн свеклы в сутки. В 2004 году выработано 768,4 тыс. тонн сахара, в том числе из сахарной свеклы – 299,1 тыс. тонн. С учетом наращивания общая производственная мощность сахарных предприятий к сезону переработки сахарной свеклы урожая 2005 г. составит 23,80 тыс. тонн в сутки, экспортный потенциал по сахару-песку, выработанному из сахарной свеклы, составит в 2005 году не менее 370 тыс. тонн.

Предприятия кондитерской отрасли производят карамель, шоколад и шоколадные изделия, зефир, мармелад, мягкие конфеты, халву и мучные изделия (печенье, вафли, крекеры, пряники).

Годовая мощность кондитерской отрасли составляет 125,9 тыс. тонн. Коэффициент использования мощностей составляет 80 процентов.

Предприятия кондитерской отрасли экспортируют порядка 40 процентов произведенной продукции.

За 2004 год внешнеторговый товарооборот предприятий отрасли составил 80 038,7 тыс. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 37 404,7 (в Россию – 35 552,2 тыс. долларов США) и импорт – 42 634,0 тыс. долларов США (из России – 17 746,2 тыс. долларов США).

Кондитерская отрасль республики в настоящее время решает ряд важнейших задач по обновлению ассортимента, снижению себестоимости, созданию конкурентоспособных кондитерских изделий, по повышению пищевой и биологической ценности, продлению сроков годности кондитерских изделий, по оформлению готовой продукции, по поиску новых рынков сбыта продукции.

С целью увеличения объемов производства кондитерской продукции, повышения спроса на изделия и увеличения экспортного потенциала организации отрасли проводят работу по совершенствованию ассортимента, одним из путей которого является разработка новых видов изделий, с использованием натуральных пищевых добавок (b-каротина, фруктовые припасы, подварки из клубники, черники, клюквы, сливы, красной и черной смородины, черно- и красно-плодной рябины, сырья из злаковых культур, фруктовые и овощные порошки).

Предприятия отрасли специализируются на выпуске масла растительного, маргариновой продукции, майонеза, масла растительного фасованного, мыла хозяйственного и туалетного.

Производственные мощности предприятий по состоянию на 01.01.2005 составили по переработке семян масличных культур – 150 тонн в сутки, по выпуску маргариновой продукции – 61,8 тыс. тонн в год, в т.ч. ОАО Минский маргариновый завод" – 36,1 тыс. тонн, ОАО "Гомельский жировой комбинат" – 25,7 тыс. тонн, майонеза – 17,1 тыс. тонн, в т.ч. ОАО "Минский маргариновый завод" – 4,5 тыс. тонн, ОАО "Гомельский жировой комбинат" – 12,6 тыс. тонн, масла растительного фасованного – 3,9 тыс. тонн, в т.ч. ОАО "Бобруйский завод растительных масел" – 2,9 тыс. тонн, ОАО "Минский маргариновый завод" – 1,0 тыс. тонн, мыла хозяйственного и туалетного (ОАО "Гомельский жировой комбинат") соответственно – 19,0 и 11,3 тыс. тонн в год.

За ряд лет в масложировой отрасли наблюдается падение внешнеторгового оборота и экспорта, в частности: в 2000 году на экспорт было поставлено продукции масложировой отрасли на сумму 18,7 млн. долларов США, в 2001 году – 10,8 млн. долларов США, в 2002 году – 13,1 млн. долларов США. В 2003 году ОАО "Гомельский жировой комбинат" экспорт готовой продукции не осуществлялся. В 2004 же году предприятие возобновило экспортные поставки (экспорт составил 131,3 тыс. долларов США).

За 2004 год внешнеторговый товарооборот предприятий масложировой отрасли составил 9 513,1 тыс. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 2 495,8 тыс. долларов США (в Россию – 305,7 тыс. долларов США) и импорт – 7 017,3 тыс. долларов США (из России – 5 101,1 тыс. долларов США).

Организациями отрасли постоянно проводится работа по обновлению и расширению ассортимента, улучшению качества выпускаемой продукции. В прошедшем году освоен выпуск маргариновой продукции – 4 вида, масла мягкого со смешанным жировым составом – 2, майонезов – 3, соусов на майонезной основе – 4 вида.

Кроме того, предприятия неоднократно принимали участие в республиканских и международных конкурсах. На Всероссийском смотре качества масложировой продукции, проводимом в июне 2004 года в г. Москва, предприятия были удостоены двух дипломов II-степени и серебряных медалей и трех дипломов III-степени и бронзовых медалей "За высокое качество продукции". На специализированной выставке "Масло, сыр–2004", проводимой в сентябре 2004 г. в г. Москва продукция ОАО "Гомельский жировой комбинат" удостоен двумя золотыми и двумя серебряными медалями.

Майонез "Провансаль" (производство ОАО "Минский маргариновый завод") признан победителем VII Республиканского конкурса продуктов питания "Продукт года 2004" с вручением диплома I-степени. Маргарин столовый "Сливочный", майонез "Бодрость", "Школьный" (ОАО "Гомельский жировой комбинат") признаны лауреатами конкурса Лучшие товары Республики Беларусь.

За 2004 год предприятиями концерна "Белгоспищепром" произведено 7,049 млн. дал ликероводочных изделий, или 95% от общереспубликанского объема производства.

Потребность внутреннего рынка республики в водках и ликероводочных изделиях составляет около 8,0 млн. дал в год.

Организации республики располагают производственным потенциалом, позволяющим экспортировать водку и ликёроводочные изделия в объеме до 1 млн. дал в год. Однако за последние десять лет экспорт водок и ликероводочных изделий значительно сократился с 1569,2 тыс. дал в 1995 году до 59,4 тыс. дал в 2004 году.

Внешнеторговый оборот предприятий ликероводочной отрасли за 2004 год составил 2 566,2 тыс. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 875,6 тыс. долларов США. В Российскую Федерацию экспортировано продукции на 279,9 тыс. долларов США. География поставок: Германия, Турция, Польша, США, Израиль, Литва, Латвия, Армения, Калининградская область Российской Федерации.

Предприятия ликероводочной отрасли

В республике насчитывается 74 предприятия различной формы собственности общей мощностью 18,15 млн. дал спирта этилового в год. По состоянию на 1 января 2005 г. имеют лицензии на право производства спирта этилового из пищевого сырья 45 спиртзаводов мощностью 13,7 млн. дал спирта.

В состав концерна "Белгоспищепром" входят 10 юридически самостоятельных предприятий, производящих спирт этиловый из пищевого сырья мощностью 6,76 млн. дал в год.

Коэффициент использования мощностей действующих спиртзаводов за прошлый год составил 57,4 %, по предприятиям концерна "Белгоспищепром" – 68,2 %.

Главной причиной создавшейся ситуации в отрасли является резкое снижение спроса на спирт со стороны основных его потребителей – организаций, производящих алкогольные напитки.
