enterprises of the sector have been forced to reorient their production
from manufacture of products designed for defense to peaceful economic
sectors and consumer goods. In the recent years, quality and
reliability of products manufactured by conversion enterprises have
been improved. This was facilitated by the use of components and
elemental base of the world best manufacturers. Horizont and Vityaz
Television Enterprises manufacture color TV sets having the same
functions as TV sets produced by the known foreign firms.
The radio engineering industry includes over 70
scientific-production amalgamations, plants, research and design
institutes. The sector manufactures over one-third of similar products
of the entire CIS countries. The main types of products include
universal program and technical complexes, professional and consumer
personal computers and workstations of different profiles, electronic
automatic telephone exchanges (ATE), printed circuit-boards, television
equipment, cellular telephone equipment, radio transmitter-receivers,
tape recorders, automobile radio sets and recorders, cable television
systems, consumer electrical appliances, SHF ovens, washing machines,
and medical equipment.
Horizont Minsk Production Amalgamation manufactures color and black-and-white TV sets,
radio sets and furniture.
Vityaz Vitebsk Production Amalgamation manufactures color and black-and-white TV sets,
satellite TV systems, and furniture.
The Minsk Production Amalgamation of Computation
Equipment manufactures personal computers, middle-class electronic
computation machines, workstations/servers, electronic automatic
telephone exchanges and switching facilities, ultrasonic flow meters,
electronic cash-registers, printed circuit-boards, and a wide range of
lighting products.
The Minsk Instrument-Making Plant
manufactures electrical devices, consumer equipment, measurement
devices, and medical equipment.
Radiovolna manufactures automobile radio and recorder sets, radio
sets, TV sets, cable TV systems, and electrical generators for
mini-tractors.
Sputnik Molodechno Radio Plant manufactures stationary and mobile radiotelephone
communication systems, telephone line radio range extenders, radio
stations, automobile radio and recorder sets, and radio sets.
Agat Minsk Scientific-Production Amalgamation manufactures automatic control systems for energy
sector and transport, information reading and processing equipment,
automated geological survey complexes, network and switching equipment,
and special vehicles for valuable cargo transportation.
The Brest Electro-Mechanical Plant
manufactures medical equipment, devices for commercial account of
energy resources, consumer appliances, pneumatic sowers, and guaranteed
power-supply systems.
Kalibr Minsk Plant manufactures radio measurement devices and equipment,
logic analyzers, programmers for integrated circuits, printed circuit
boards, and small-size TV sets.
Izmeritel Novopolotsk Enterprise manufactures various types of telemetry systems,
automobile and power electronics products, satellite navigation
equipment, telecommunication and communication products, including
devices for SHF range, and uninterruptible supply systems.
Termoplast Minsk Plant manufactures washing machines, electrical mixers, coffee
grinders, and consumer plastic products.
The Brest Radio Engineering Plant
manufactures personal computers and electrical stoves.
The Research Institute of Electronic Computation
Machines manufactures computation equipment, computer networks, and
various systems.
The Gomel Radio Plant manufactures telephone
communication compaction systems, equipment for meat-processing
industry, refrigeration chambers, water-cleaning equipment, washing
machines, consumer lights, furniture and accessories.
Zenit Mogilev Plant manufactures means for communication, energy sector and
energy saving, consumer goods (tape recorders, automobile radio and
recorder sets, radio sets).
