MACHINE-TOOL BUILDING
For many years
the machine-tool building of Belarus provided for qualitative and
quantitative development of other industries, playing a key role in
updating the technological equipment park. At present, it is
represented by 30 enterprises and organizations among which are
machine-tool and tool plants, enterprises for manufacture of versatile
technological rigging, foundry and press and molding equipment, special
design departments (SDD), as well as research and technological design
institutes. The enterprises preserve their capacities and capabilities
as well as skilled personnel. The nomenclature of manufactured
machine-tools includes all 9 groups according to the classification
adopted in the machine-tool sector and allows meeting the technical
needs of enterprises of different sectors. In addition to production of
technical use, the machine-tool plants also manufacture consumer goods
among which are universal kitchen appliances, consumer woodworking
machines, children's carriages, locks of high level of secrecy, cutting
tools, kitchen sets and plastic products, gardening tools, spare parts
for cars.
The Baranovichi Plant of Automated Lines manufactures automated lines, transfer machines
and special woodworking machines.

processing centers, automated lines and machines for the bearing
industry.
The Minsk Machine-Tool Plant named after S.M.Kirov manufactures cutting machines, horizontal and
vertical rolling machines, and special woodworking machines.
Vizas Vitebsk Enterprise specializes in manufacture of tool-grinding and
woodworking machines.
The Minsk Plant of Automated Lines named after P.
M. Masherov manufactures
automated lines, transfer machines and special woodworking machines.
The Molodechno Machine-Tool Plant manufactures vertical drilling machines, threading
and balancing machines.
