VISA INFORMATION Starting from the 1st June 2001 Hungarian nationals in possession of ordinary passports may enter the Republic of Belarus only with a valid Belarusian visa. Starting from the 1st August 2003 Hungarian nationals in possession of ordinary passport can obtain Belarusian visa (for private or business purpose only) for the term up to 30 days without invitation. The only requirement is the following: in the visa application form must be mentioned name and precise address of person (private visa) or the name and precise address of Belarusian company (for business visa) you are going to visit in Belarus. Starting from the 1st October 2004 EU nationals in possession of ordinary passport can obtain Belarusian visa (for private or business purpose only) for the term up to 30 days without invitation. The conditions of obtaining of this visas for them are similar as for Hungarian citizens. On 4 February 2006 a new edition of Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Legal Status of Foreigners in the Republic of Belarus" came in force. Due to this Law foreign citizens has to fill the Migration Card before entering Belarus and produce it upon the request of border guards. The Migration Card can be obtained at the state border. Beside it foreign citizens entering Belarus upon the visas can stay in the country not more than 90 days per calendar year. Starting from the 06 February 2006 a new type of short-time visa - multiple entries visa for three month - is available. Visa for the term up to 90 days can be issued only upon the invitation. To obtain a Belarusian visa an applicant has to present to the Embassy the following documents:
For a business visa (for the term exceeding 30 days) - invitation letter from any Belarusian legal entity officially registered in Belarus . The invitation has to be written on the letterhead paper and contain visitor's name, personal and passport data as well as purpose and duration of visit. The invitation must be signed and bear official seal of the inviting company/organization. Invitations received by fax are acceptable. On demand of the applicant business visa may be issued by the Embassy for one, two or multiple entries for the period not exceeding 90 days. This must be indicated in the invitation letter. Application for a multiple business visa (valid for one year period) is a subject of a special procedure. A simplified procedure of obtaining of a multiple business visas for Hungarian truck drivers (valid both for delivery to Belarus and transit) entered into force from June 2002 (download here). For a visa for private purposes (for the term exceeding 30 days) - original invitation issued by the local Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIC) on demand of the Belarusian resident (copies are not accepted). Near relations may ask for a multiple invitation (multiple visa is issued in this case) For a tourist visa - letter of invitation issued by any Belarusian tour operator or tourist agency. For a transit visa - valid visa of destination country.
Additional information: Visas are issued within 5 working days. There is also a possibility to receive it urgently (same or next day) by paying additional fee of 25 EUR. Visas for children under 16 are issued free of charge, visa processing fee is levied in this case. Visa fees are to be paid in euro on the Embassy’s account at MKB Bank. | Important notes:
A foreign citizen visiting Belarus must register his passport within the period of 3 working days at the local passport and visa office and have registration stamp put in his passport. Hotels provide this service to their customers. Private or business visa can be extended for the period of up to 90 days during staying in Belarus. It could be done by the Minsk City DIC (contact phone in Minsk +375 17 231 38 09) or Regional DIC in Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk upon presentation of the required documents. Tourist visa cannot be extended. Exit permits are required for the foreigners intending to leave the country with expired visas. They are issued by the Minsk City DIC or Regional DIC Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk against a fine payment. A foreign citizen entering the territory of the Republic of Belarus has to produce a valid medical insurance policy. If necessary this policy can be arranged by the Belarusian insurance agency at the border crossing point.
